I bought this MP3 because I’m a lecturer and want to work on flexibility of the range of my voice I use when speaking. I already have a Voice and Diction from college that I practice from weekly, but it falls short with thia.

I like to use the first half of this MP3 for warming up in the morning, especially on a day I lecture. One comment was that some of the workouts went too fast. I fix this by using Windows Media Player play speed settings to slow it down to 80 percent. There is some distortion with the audio but not enough to affect practice.

I have a problem with having a denasal voice, so really like the Hmm and Brr practice. Both get the stuff cold sound out of my voice.

I really dislike the Hweet practice and make a special playlist to skip it or turn the speed way, way down to 50 percent.

For the breathing section, I at first thought the lessons quite strange because almost every other instruction starts with diaphragm breathing. But I found as I go through these practices, I breath automatically from that area. Would recommend a private place to practice these exercises because others listening will think you are having some sort of attack or going all the way into the deep end.

I would like to have a second series of exercises with less talking and more practicing, like there is in the other series of these products. Also it is great to fit the first part in half an hour, but a little slower please.

Great CD to help my voice along. A great substitution for not having a singing coach and easy to follow along and warm to.

    Thanks!

I felt very rushed with this cd. She jumps way too fast into speeding up the tempo. It would have been nice if she focused more on singing each vocal exercise correctly through the scales. I couldn’t keep up with how fast she went….it was like jumping from 0 to 100 miles per hr. Speed should not be the focus of vocal exercises….

I have enjoyed singing and playing piano since I was little but if you are new to music, you may get frustrated without a teacher. I am a contralto and struggle with high notes. When I first started, I had to drop out for many of the higher notes. These exercises take effort so you can’t expect to run through them and have a great voice instantly. I’ve been doing these exercises 3-4 times a week for a little over a month now, but was initially discouraged because I could feel strain in my muscles and couldn’t feel/hear any results. I took a few days off to rest my voice as suggested by Vaccarino and I recommend that you heed her advice on this one! I practiced for church and felt incredibly good and sang high harmonies that I usually struggle with. After singing for church the following day, someone came up to me and said, “man you were really belting it out today and you sounded so good”. I did the exercises Monday and hit the high notes comfortably and with ease! While this series can’t make you a singer, it will develop muscles, control, and improve (not necessarily increase) your range.

This product seems to be good, I have not gone through the whole thing, but it seems like it can stretch your voice. Hopefully it will help me!
