Seth the Name Origin and Meaning

I think Seth is a great name and am glad my parents named me Seth. If your name is Seth or you would just like to know its origin or meaning like I wanted to just take a look here and see how appointed or place you are Seth!!!

Seth or Set means “placed” or “appointed” in Hebrew. Seth was the son of Adam and Eve, Seth was born after the murder of Abel by his twin brother Cain. Seth is noted as the son of Adam from whom Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Joseph and consequently David and Jesus are descended.

Seth or Set was also the evil Egyptian god of destruction and chaos, the slayer of Osiris. Orisis’ son Horus eventually defeats Set and has him banished to the desert.
