Raise Your Voice has been the been the best thing that ever happened to my singing voice. I bought this book being kind of skeptical about how much of an effect it would have on me. The book was very easy to read(I think i’ve read it over 5 times by now), which helps considering that there is a LOT of information in it. Everything you need to know about the voice is here. So you can learn how to take care of your voice(and yourself), warm up your voice, use your voice, and improve your voice.

One of the best things the book comes with is the forums. It gives you a password to a forum that other book readers can join. There are a lot of people on there, including Jaime, that will help you with anything you need help with vocally. Jaime is also one of the nicest guys you will ever talk to.

So for a review on the actual program, it works. It can either be used as exercises to incorporate into your normal routine, or you can follow the “7 week program” if you want to REALLY improve your voice. If you’re considering buying a vocal book, THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT.

Chapters devoted to natural remedies??? You have got to be kidding me!

Liked the book, liked the guy and the videos. But I cannot say that I liked the descriptions on all kinds of herbs and what it does to your body, etc. etc. etc.

There are many methods to stay healthy and I want a book on singing, not staying healthy.

Great focus on resonance, but I think that the book does a somewhat poor job on how to “shoot into the soft palate”. When I would try using his method, the results were nasally and doing it otherwise gave it a throaty feel.

I read this book over a year ago. My favorite book is the CVT by Cathrin Sadolin, but I think I will reread this book if I find time this summer from practice.

Before reading this book I had been trying for about a year and a half to learn to sing with limited success. I tried the material of several of the popular online vocal coaches with very limited success. Although I improved marginally with new information from different coaches, I never got even close to where I wanted to be. I just didn’t like the way my voice sounded even when I hit the pitches perfectly – it was just lacking quality of tone (hint: if you don’t know anything about singing, this is the most important aspect of singing). The solution was Jaime’s Isolation Method which was completely different from anything that I had ever done. Jaime’s approach is so much different and more effective that it’s almost like he’s the only coach that actually understands how singing works and how to improve the voice. The vast majority of what I had done involved scales with lip rolls and various vowel sounds which were almost completely inadequate in improving tone. Sure, they were effective at improving my range but who wants to listen to someone sing really high notes really badly? By the way, for those interested in improving range, the Isolation Method is actually more effective at achieving that goal than these other methods.

This book is miles above anything else you’re going to read or watch and it covers every single aspect of singing. Another important aspect is visualization and sensation and Jaime describes that in great detail (When reading the book, it might sound like baloney at first but when you start to feel some of the things that he describes you will understand why this is important and learn how to aim for certain sensations that are most effective for you).

If you want more reason to buy, look at the reviews for this book. My review will make a total of 24, 22 of which are 5 star ratings. You won’t find anything close to this on Amazon for vocal instruction. I know because I checked just about all of the popular books before I bought this. It works

I like this book! Great exercises that work. I didnt have much time to do the exercises daily, but it still helped me to increase by one note higher after doing the exercise for a two weeks every other day for about 2 to 3 minutes. I stopped doing them and sold the book. It works if you do them. Some exercises are a bit confusing to me, and I didnt do them because I didnt get how to. I feel that I personally would need Jaime to personally show me himself because I am so slow. LOL

I hope to be able to book a few sessions with Jaime in the future and increase my vocal range and vocal power quicker.

I have read this book at least twice. This is one of the finest books available on Vocal Technique that I have ever read. Jaime doesn’t miss a beat. While I was reading it, I tried many of the suggested exercises of which all of them worked. I especially liked that he had some of the A-List instructors make a contribution when it came to their own niche. Not many authors are willing to share the spotlight. This shows humility, sincerity, and respect — he really is out there to be of service to the student — really wants the student to succeed. I have been a fan of Jaime’s for many years. If you don’t have his first edition of this book, I highly recommend that you buy both. This is a system of teaching that will take your voice to higher and higher levels. The coach never gets a coach, but I consider Jaime to be one of mine. I have learned a lot from these books. This is a must have — the real deal.
